Every Healthy Start project has a Community Action Network (CAN).

Neighborhood residents, community leaders, consumers, medical & social service providers, faith based leaders, business representatives, government entities and others make up the CAN. The CAN addresses:

• Fragmented service delivery

• Creating culturally and linguistically appropriate services

​

Birmingham Healthy Start Plus brings together a diverse group of partnerships to provide maternal child health supportive services to pregnant women and their children or women of childbearing age who live in the Health Start communities.

These community partnerships comprise the BHSP Community Action Network (CAN) collaborative.
